....and whats wrong with Chris de Burgh??
Amy I would just like to ask you - in making your above statements - do you deem yourself human or dancer?
(PS I like it - good tune!)
Sorry Saveman but you seriously need Saved if you utter the words "I like Chris De Burgh" He is bad

Well that's me told!
I likes it. I was dancing a merry jig round my old sofa when it came on dat dare Wireless. Why I almost broke a sweat. They are quite a good beat combo and I think them cats are crazy.
Chris de Burgh? Isnt he Alistair Darling in Disguise? Have you ever seen the 2 of them in the same room?
OK you persuaded me and I had a wee search on 'e choob and I did like Sam's Town! Still like Human tho! But does that make me dancer? I would like to say No No No!
Will never be the same since my other half has put some dubious new words to it. Some might consider it better but I don't think they are suitable for printing here!
Two things are infinite: the Universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the Universe.

From the first few bars, I thought it was David Byrne singing. Their last album sounded like TV Smith, and they were like Springsteen at some point before that. Positively chameleon-like.
Have you heard any of his back catalogue? Seventeen studio albums spaning over three decades and 45 million+ album sales. Not too shabby. Sure he hasn't followed all the latest fashions and fads of the industry but what he has done is stuck to a consistantly high song-writing standard. You may not like him and you may not like his story telling style but to answer your question there is lots right with Chris de Burgh.
Saveman has good taste!
Geo, I will say this - Mr De Burgh's story-telling is one of his best qualities as a musician, and it seems a lost art these days. Many of my favourite artists are adept at portraying a story through song.
However, the music of Chris De Burgh, in my opinion, is more like listening to Jackanory to a backing of cheap Casio keyboards and softly-strummed acoustic guitars.
He's certainly no match for Peter Hammill or the misspelled Van Der Graaf Generator in those stakes. .
