Thread: Brent Goose

  1. #1

    Default Brent Goose

I saw today between Castlehill Harbour and the Beach End Car Park a solitary goose feeding in the seaweed. Going by my bird book I thinkkkk it was a Brent Goose. Did anyone else see it? I have some photos but can't get them uploaded.

It could be the same one as the one mentioned in the above thread was still around Thurso East in December and could have moved round the coast.
    Away with the birds

I have it from the County Recorder himself that he saw a Brent Goose at Castlehill last week, so a Brent Goose it is.

    Well spotted.

Did you manage to get any photos sorted out? I'd love to see them.

There was a Pale Bellied Brent Goose at Castlehill today, feeding on soft green seaweed. Here's a couple of photos.

    Pale-bellied Brent Goose (Branta hrota).
