No Happy New Year for Wick man
TRIED TO WIPE HIS BLOOD ON POLICEMAN'S FACE
A WICK man will see the New Year in behind bars after he admitted a disturbance at a local hospital which involved attempting to wipe his blood-spattered hands on a police officer.
Craig McBeath,28, was remanded in custody by Sheriff Andrew Berry after appearing from custody at Wick today.
The unemployed 28-year-old shouted and swore at Caithness General Hospital, on Friday, and repeatedly head-butted a wall.
The accused also tried to wipe blood from his hands on the face of the police officer.
David Barclay prosecuting, did not oppose bail but a remand was ordered, "in the public interest" by Sheriff Berry who described the offence as "a serious matter" and observed at McBeath was already subject to bail and a community payback order.
McBeath, of Kinnaird Street, Wick, will be sentenced on January 10 after the sheriff sees a background report and hears the details of the incident.
