Nearly!
It's actually a Rays' Bream.
I found one last winter on the beach at Keiss
The only reason I know this is an Rays' is because I knew it was a bream, but the tail is wrong for a Black bream and the body shape is slightly different - so I asked on here.
Here's a Black Bream:
cheers Northerner,
i did think the snout also looked the wrong shape for a black bream, (looks like it's swam into a wall), but took a punt on it being a black bream !
can the ray bream be fished from the shore at reiss/keiss beach ?
this was up by the steps on reiss beach just laying there on the stones not a mark on it either side. it is bright silver and irredescent blue and i know i have never seen one before it was very pretty.
Well done, Northerner. The dorsal fin was all wrong for a black bream and the snout was too pug-shaped. My first thought was also a Ray's bream.

I think they are rare this far north.
its one mean looking fish what ever it is
Regularly found washed up on North Sea beaches with a drop in water temperature.
