We are recruiting for an East Caithness Community Development Officer to support groups and projects in Sinclair’s Bay, Wick, Thrumster & Tannach, Dunbeath & Berriedale, and occasionally Lybster.
This a two-year funded post (continuation funding may be possible) and can be either one 37.5 hours per week full-time position or two 18.75 hours per week part-time job share positions.
Salary £26,780 pro rata
Candidate(s) must be flexible as the role requires attendance at evening meetings.
The role will require the successful candidate to:
- Liaise with community groups to discuss their needs.
- Carry out community surveys and community consultations.
- Carry out feasibility studies as required.
- Develop detailed community project plans.
- Identify suppliers/companies and source quotes.
- Source, apply for, and secure funding for community projects.
- Obtain all permissions required inc. Landowner, Planning and Building Warrant.
- Project manage community projects through to completion.
- Write reports for project funders.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Have a strong understanding of community led development.
- Strong IT skills.
- Be a team player.
- Able to use your own initiative.
- A clean drivers licence.
- Access to a vehicle.
Desirable Skills
- Project management experience.
- Community funding experience.
- Previous Third Sector experience.
