Bound to bring benefits to North Sutherland. Good opportunity if properly handled.
It did seem strange that the Government excluded the north part of the Moine from the 'Wild Land' designation used in planning decisions. Now we know why.
This will pull in the tourists if the NC500 starts losing its appeal

Can't help but think that roads to and from aren't great, fine if the rockets could fit in a transit but.........?
I'm taking bets that the A836 Lairg to Tongue becomes the M836 and the Crask Inn becomes a motorway service station. I'm actually looking forward to watching a launch, if we are allowed near enough.
I hope this goes well and quality long term jobs are brought to the area.
The site will be known as Tongue to Uranus
There have been a lot of rockets in use in Wick for many a year.
I've just read that the satellites are about the size of a football and mostly built in Glasgow. No new roads or upgrades proposed as Hermes has got the contract to deliver them as their track record with fragile items and delivery times are exemplary
I'm surprised that the Thurso crowd aren't complaining that it's not being built in Thurso....i'm sure that plenty of us over here in Wick would be happier if this was indeed built slap bang in the middle of Thurso. All those juicy flames coming from the rockets would soon cure the whining coming from the usual suspects :-)
almost spat coffee everywhere, was much amused

I don’t understand that post
Ok, got ya
Shows you what an exciting existence I lead.
The cops not smart enough to catch on to that?
I do not live in Caithness now but even I have known that for years when the rockets go up a new batch has arrived, so am sure the folk in uniforms know this too but it is catching them with a sizeable quantity - but on the other hand the uniformed want to catch the ones who are supplying them rather than the folk who consider themselves 'suppliers' up in Caithness.
