probably an elder
does anyone know the name of this tree currently in flower with large creamy flowers - a bit like cauliflower heads - and smallish oval leaves. quite a lot in caithness esp watten area etc. thanks.

Had a look and the rowan flowers are long past, the berries are formed now.
When the elder flowers go to fruit, maybe we should try and make elderflower wine, maybe help the quiz along on a sunday night

It sounds like an Elder to me.
If so, you can eat the flowers - dip them in a light batter and fry - delicious.
Also make wine from the flowers, good for chest problems.
The berries can too can be used for cordial and wine... yummy !
