    Default Hotels

Hi all, yes I'm still going.

I may get my chance to visit my ancestral homeland of Wick & Thurso soon. So who better to ask about where to stay, than the people of the Forum. Whats your recomendations for Hotels and why ?
I will have a few days of family research to do while im there so any hints and advice where to go would be great too.

I also have a few friends with me, who wish to experience the famous firewater of our nation lol so does anyone have any distilleries that they would recomend too

    Thanks all

There are many hotels in wick, Norseman, Mackays, Nethercliffe, Queens, you may be cheaper in a guest house or B&B,
Poulteney distillery is in wick, you must go there.
Have a look under tourism, under the caithness org orange and blue banner above.

There are also several Good Hotels in Thurso. Like :-

    Royal Hotel (01847 893191)
    Station Hotel (01847 892003)
    Central Hotel (01847 893129)
    Weigh Inn (01847 893722)
Ferry Inn Hotel, Scrabster (01847 892814)
    Park Hotel (01847 893251)
    Holborn Hotel (01847 892771)

If you want a Hotel I would suggest the Weigh Inn as they have Challet's and is good for popping in and out.

I have no Idea of Prices so you would need to contact them but you might, and I say might, be less expensive with a good B & B.

Personally I think if you have transport I would suggest that you either find a Hotel or B & B out of the town as they can be cheaper. Also for a Hotel between Thurso and Wick how about :-

Castle Arms Hotel in Mey, (01847 851244), or the Brown Trout Hotel in Watten, (01955 621354)

    Here is a Link to the B & B's in Caithness :-

I hope this info is of some help
