Dragonfly - well said (I was biting my tongue!!!!). The rock pool set would benefit from better focus as well . . . . . .

you're doing fine Annie, its all about getting more practice, I feel I've come on leaps and bounds and I still don't really know what I'm doing or half of what the functions of my camera are - daresay that I'll get around to finding out one day

so get out and about taking more photos and posting them on here, some will like your photos some won't but as long as you get enjoyment out of taking them thats all that matters

    ANNIE,

The light and reflections of the clouds in your second image are very nice.

You're getting some good advice from dragonfly, she is totally correct about practice improving your photography, the other important technique is to look at the work of other photographers, and if you get the chance go to as many photographic exhibitions as you can, whilst I am not advocating copying the work of other photographers, looking at how they structure images and use light to create "mood" is very much of the learning process, and its important to experiment once you've seen a style you like.

Have a look at the work of these British landscape photographers, look at how they compose photographs and how they use light.

Oh, I forgot to add, try joining the local camera club in the autumn, there's a wealth of knowledge you can tap into.
