    Default Halkirk....

..what is life like in the village? Is it quiet?
All the info I can find suggests so.
Is there a Doctor's surgery? Bus to Thurso?
I'm being a bit lazy here but maybe someone local
will not mind filling me in.

Not in a literal sense mind....lol.

Halkirk I suppose is fairly quiet. It has a doctors surgery, buses go through Halkirk about every hour, there's a grocers shop, a garage and two hotels what more could anybody want????

It's not on the coast. I couldn't imagine living in Caithness and not being near the sea, or next to a loch. But that's just me I guess...

This probably sounds daft, but Halkirk has never quite felt like Caithess to me. What do I mean by that? I don't know, I can't quantify it.

It's a fine place really, it's on the river and there is indeed good fishing there.

Don't take too much notice of my ramblings...
