Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

It's a beautiful journey - well, if you get the weather for it!! In the mist and drizzle it's not so crash hot. But when it's sunny, the scenery is just breathtaking.

I'm glad to say that i've been on that train journey and indeed even in November it was one of the most beautiful "treats" I've experienced.

I've been on the line so many times, its beautiful in the sun, but a bit depressing in the traditional scottish weather LOL. I've got pics somewhere.

    ... and I agree entirely.

    Default Scotland North

It is rather interesting to see that msn.co.uk have just recently extended the map on the right side of the site to include all things North of Inverness, as prior to that there was a cutoff at said Inverness.
I have also recently seen brochures of Scottish trips where again the cutoff is Inverness.
I have friends who some years ago wanted to visit Caithness and had to get special maps and have the trip specially booked, as the 'run of the mill' tours didn't include the North.
Kinda sad really as there is so much to (sea) haha.. 'over the ord'!
Oh well we all know it's great so I suppose that is the most important thing......................
