Smile 10 Great British Rail Trips - Wick & Thurso

MSN have a list of the 10 Great British rail trips with Inverness to Wick / Thurso coming in nicely at number 4.

Question though, does anyone know exactly where the picture they use to represent us is??

No I do not know where this pic is from, but here it is so that you all can have a guess. :-

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

I think they have used a picture of somewhere that is not on the Inverness to Wick/Thurso line. It looks familiar but I just can't place it.

This looks very like Drumochter....South of Inverness, because all true Caithneesins know that every one South thinks there is nothing north off Inverness.

I agree, in fact I have a similar pic. Just going to search for it.

Some people in the South think there is nothing north of the Forth Bridge.

The picture is of the horseshoe bend on the West Highland line near Bridge of Orchy, crossing the viaduct over the Auch Glen.... Wrong railway!

I thought Drumochter first, then somewhere on the west coast line, but certainly not on the Thurso/Wick to Inverness line.

Have often told folk coming to visit that they should take the train for the latter part of the journey or travel on the early train on a spring or summer morning to really appreciate Scottish scenery and wildlife at its very best.

We have lovely views here from the train, why use a photo from somewhere else? That`s almost like a travel brochure showing a photo of a lovely hotel and when you get there it`s still under construction......... misleading, to say the least.
