sometimes when you download music on the internet it will play on one mp3 player only; something to do with copyright protection i thinks

go to www.limewire.com and download their filesharing program. this lets u search for free music. and just to point out, downloading music for free is not illegal but uploading is illegal.

Having just reformatted someones PC as a result of "Limewire", I'd be very wary of downloading it.

Downloading copyrighted material (without permission) is actually illegal as well. You run a far greater risk of being prosecuted if you're uploading, but that doesn't make free downloading legal.

Best legal sites are prob in mother Russia - http://www.allofmp3.com/ - about 50 cents (us) an album when I last looked - How's it legal, I hear you ask? Okay, tis' all to do with licensing - Everybody in the state formally known as Russia are a tad poor so our record moguls flog the licenses off at a reduced rate to peddle their goods and hence the music gets flogged on the .net and comes back to us

Can you state the legal authority that you rely upon? I guess d/loading warez (software) is legal also...

It's to do with broadcast rights in Russia. If I remember correctly the site or the current law there classes internet downloads as broadcasts and the site has paid the licenses that allow them to broadcast music. However I've read articles which say it "might" only be legal to use in Russia.

    Default soulseek

    I recommend Soulseek http://www.slsknet.org/

Never had any bother with viruses etc. Used Limewire but wasn't overly impressed with it, also tried kazza lite and found it to be terrible for dodgy files.

If you have loaded the driver, uninstall it and then install it again. These type of MP3 players need their own driver although Windows says it has found one that will do. This should then let the player see the downloaded files.

Could you post a picture of your MP3?
It might be that your files are not Mp3 or are not compatible with your mp3 player.
How are you transfering the songs over?
Need a little bit more info to help.

I absolutely hate Real Player. It is one of those annoying programs written by people who think because they wrote it, it must be the only program worth using (OK I've been guilty of that myself!) When you install or update it it changes the defaults for all kinds of media files to play with RealPlayer. I see less and less Realmedia content on the web nowadays, and when there's something I really need to see I play it with a free program called Media Player Classic (available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/). It looks like Windows Media Player from years ago, but plays Realmedia files and a host of other types.
