    ... just as a follow on from the slaughter house thread, what do you think would happen to the diverse landscape we enjoy in the British countryside if we all became vegetarian?
    The box said, "Requires Windows XP or better"...

    ... so I installed Ubuntu!

    Quite. I was briefly vegetarian until I thought what you're thinking and didn't fancy it. The countryside without animals would be a pretty dismal place as well as horribly overgrown. Maybe one day they'll all lead happy outdoor lives and be killed humanely, then fewer of us will have to worry.
    The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

    Good question.

    The modern British landscape is a product of generations of manipulation for animal production. I believe that a fairly large percentage of land - certainly in the Far North- would not be suitable for growing crops or vegetables. What happens to that land?
