    Default Death of a Firefighter

    Hi guys,

I know that my friends here are aware of this and thank them now for their support..which has been utterly amazing...especial thanks to 'Heather'..she knows for why!

We, in Central Scotland suffered a terrible blow this week when a fire appliance responding to an automatic fire alarm suffered a road traffic accident that resulted in the death of a respected fire officer and the hospitalisation in intensive care of another.........his life is currently in the balance.

Many of you saw this reported on the news and sent me messages of support knowing that my husband is a member of central scotland fire and rescue and that we would be involved.

I cannot thank you lot enough...you kept 'me' sane enough to keep the important guys supported.

I will be at one funeral next week..hopefully not two..but I know I take the love and support of the org with me..

And I thank you for that.

    karia.and family!

Must be dreadful for everyone involved. These heros that save lives every day are seen as unbreakable. My thoughts are with you and yours.

and it is well worth noting that the firefighter who died in central scotland was the one who was hailed a hero in the 'stockline plastics' tragedy!

Karia........All Front line Firemen in my opinion are Hero's, as are many of the essential services. Paramedics etc. Lifeboat men, they do it for free.

I was very sad to hear about this, karia -the man will be such a great loss to his friends and colleagues, and of course especially to his family.
The fact he was out on what proved to be a false alarm must be particularly hard to deal with, but I hope that everyone who knew him will remember him as a hero.
I wish everyone who's been involved in this tragic event the strength and courage to get through this tough time.

That corner is notorious. It's where a motorcyclist died after being hit by a police car not so long ago. And the next 15 bends are just as bad, especially at Tait's Tomb, approx half way between Tillicoultry and Dollar. Something needs to change here...
