    I want to go !!

I once wrote to Jim and asked him fix it for me to feed the penguins at Edinburgh Zoo.
    He never wrote back

Starry, here's a couple of penguin photos I took at Edinburgh Zoo late last year. Enjoy...

Here is a salient lesson in what you can achieve with a good eye and a reasonably 'cheap' camera.

These are astonishingly good images, beautifully composed.

Olympus make amazingly good compacts, I used to use an early 2 meg camedia and it was bought from me by an astronomer, long after everyone had moved to 5 meg sensors, purely due to the low light/long expo performance.

Nothing beats good glass and large photosites.

For the pixel count obsessed, take note this is a 4 meg cam.

The best images I have seen so far on Caithness.org, Astroman.

Glad you liked the photos - I believe most of the credit for the photos has to go to Olympus though.

I've found this camera (Olympus C-750) to be very versatile and capable of producing better photos than some compacts with almost double the megapixel count. I certainly have no plans for parting with it anytime soon - it has served me well.

Indeed splendid pictures! I have an Olympus C-360 that I got 4 years ago, only 3MP but so clear I have printed them at 30x20 inches no problem!

Its just a shame that it has developed a battery fault and no longer works for more than 5mins.

I have around 8,000 pictures that I have taken with it!

    Default Boulders Beach

    Hi Scunner,

Boulders is a great place. I liked the sign in the carpark.

Lots more to see around there too. On a pelagic out of Simonstown we had Shy, Black-browed and yellow-nosed Albatross; both Southern and Northern (Hall’s) giant petrels, sabine’s Gulls, white-chinned petrel; manx, great, cory's and sooty shearwaters amongst others.

Usually I associate penguins with snow, but in SA they are on the beach. We also saw some whales, in the distance, and Kruger Park is an experience not to be missed.
