Why is it called a Channel Billed Cuckoo? What's so unusual about it? Does it have some strange type of beak and is it a true member of the cuckoo family or just an Oz look a like?

As far as I can make out, the channel billed bit comes from it having a sort of stripey bit along it's beak, that looks a bit like a channel??
