    Default Halkirk under seige

I see that Halkirk is to get a new Waste incinerator masquerading as a biomass system. Yet again we have some down south company looking into how to hoodwink folk that they take as being slow or stupid. Just hope the Council don't F..k this up as they did at CHAP . The use of a site close to a railhead is the first marker that WASTE is the direction they are planning. The Council must be aware as they are there to protect the community and environment. Folk are watching.

Thanks cptdodger. It clearly purports to be fuelled by sustainable biomass. As dozy's point with Chap proved that it would be difficult if not impossible to alter the fuel for what it was intended. Seemingly that was the whole failure of Chap was that it couldn't burn what it was intended to burn. Somebody ordered the wrong burner. So presumably this crowd have got the right burner then it would be difficult to burn other waste in it. And anyway, even if it could burn general waste then it could be closed down because it would be in breach of its own planning application. Nothing to worry about really except locals may see a hike in wood prices as this plant scavenges local supplies.
