There are some useful tips here:

    http://www.pcworld.com/resource/brow...00,pg,1,00.asp

This PCWorld columnist always starts by telling you to open the picture in "your favorite image editing software", but in fact his examples are always using PaintShop Pro. Unfortunately what he's telling you is often some fairly advanced topic, so for the more basic things you will have to find it somewhere else. I have the program but I haven't used it much as yet. It came with the machine!

Thanks George, the topics certainly relate to what I hope to be able to do, so hopefully I'll be able to follow the instructions!

dragonfly, may I be so bold as to ask you to what purpose you wish to use PSP for before answering your question?

mainly for work, to be able to produce flysheets with photos, graphics , collages etc, can do so much with Word, but its not quite right for what I want to do - does that help??

Then would you not be best learning Quark (http://www.quark.com/)?

Just a thought, since it seems to be the industry standard and far more suited to printing stuff

thanks SandTiger - as you can probably tell, don't know that much about it all, but will look into Quark - if its simpler to understand than PSP, that would be a bonus!

Although I agree with the comment about Quark, I'd still be learning PSP as it leads on nicely to PhotoShop (very pricey but much more powerful). Its well worth knowing how to manipulate and create images before you put them out for print, be it in Quark or Word.

Zeal has hit the nail on the head given thet you have paid for psp then it is worth learning it - Also, you can d/load a copy of PhotoShop from here -http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/main.html which will give you 30 days

I tend to use Fireworks these days which you will find here - http://www.macromedia.com/ as that suits me.

Yep, they take a bit of time to learn but they are not hard and will give you a better standing

At the end of the day, use what you feel comfortable with and have fun playing with the others
