Thread: Telephone adaptor for routing calls through PC

Default Telephone adaptor for routing calls through PC

Does anyone know a way in which you can route your normal BT phone calls through your PC.
My OH has a hearing problem and despite an expensive telephone headset still has problems on phone.

If he uses a PC headset (with 3.5mm phono) and SKYPE there is no problem, similarly his O2 Blackberry is fine.

What I am looking for is an adapter/lead which will plug into the RJ socket of telephone handset and the other end into the PC.
    Does such a thing exist?

long time ago i had a pc that you could do this with. It had a 9600 modem card in it into which you plugged the phone line into one socket and a phone into another socket and the PC headset could be used to talk/listen to a phone conversation. The software allowed for recording of calls amid other uses. No idea if theres anything like that now though but i'm sure there will be someone along soon to put us right
