Bain/Cormack/Falconer/Manson/Sutherland

I haven't been working on my family tree for long but have managed to get as far as my ggg grandparents without too many gaps. I was wondering if I have any links with any one else out there.

These are the people that I am looking for connections to:

Birthdates may be a year out as many are deduced from census records.

Magnus Bain b.1804 Wick married to Elizabeth Cormack (b.1806).
Children Janet (b.1833) Elisabath (b.1835) William (b.1837) and Alexander (b.1841?)

Robert Falconer b.1803 married Helen (b.1805).
Children Margaret (b.02/12/1860) there may be more, I haven't checked yet.

William Manson b.1793 married Margaret (I think the surname is Donn. b.1812)
Children Joan (b.1832) William (b.1839) and Margaret (b.1844)

William Cormack b.1821 married Alexandrina (or Alexina b.1818)
Children Alexina (b.1845) Jean (b.1844) and Janet (b.1849)

The children that have been underlined are those that are my direct ancestors.

If any one has more information on any of these people I would love to hear from you.

Hello I have copied and pasted this from some info i hold, janet was also called jessie she married into my bain family 1857 and died in childbirh 1857 her daughter janet was raised by her father John Bain at gersay watten she later married Charles Dunnet. I am sure magnus and elspet cormack had quite a few children . I will have a look at my files and see what I have on them and post back later. Robert Falconer's wife's m/s could be Mowat . jax

DEATH : Elizabeth BAIN(ms CORMACK) D 19 Apr 1874 in Keiss aged 67 married to Magnus Bain farmer - daughter of William Cormack farmer dec and Janet Cormack ms Cormack. Alexander Bain son was informant.

Parents William Cormack & Janet Cormack married 4 Jan 1795 M110432 Wick.
Other Children to WC & JC : Alex 1810, Isobel 1804, John 1795, Janet 1797, Margaret 1799. C110432 Wick.

NB Magnus B & Eliz C also had a son John b 1830.

Anyone got Magnus death and parents data?

Robert Falconer/Helen Mowat had a daughter Margaret born about 1848 who married an Alexander Bain, son of Magnus Bain and Elizabeth Cormack in 1881.


Same family? If so, I have a bit of info as same Falconer and Mowat marriages are in my line twice.

There is an Elizabeth Robson/John Bain marriage at Canisbay on the IGI 10/6/1794.......an extract, not a submission.

I've got a couple of Robson/Robertsons in other branches and around the same kind of age, but I've not been able to tie any of them to each other.

I have several Robertson/Robson/Robeson as well.
One I really want to find is Helen who married in 1800 Sarclet James More b1774.
Naming pattern of children would sugest her parents Could be Donald and Elizabeth but of course I could be missing some children.
Helen died before 1851.
1841 census Helen aged 68 - so born circa 1773 +/-

Other Robertson main line is Keiss - family of James Robertson b1891 app.

Is this the one who married George Sinclair in 1819 do you think? I have her birth c 1795.

It doesn't seem likely that Margaret Falconer could have been born in 1860 to a mother born c 1805?? 1848 much more reasonable.
