Default Recipe for Tablet and any tips???

Okay, I know this probably should be in the Recipes section of the forum but I thought I may get a better and quicker response here!!

I promised to make tablet for someone tonight and I cant remember the recipe for it!!

Also when I used to make it it always came out too dark!?

Does anyone have any tips also for good tablet making??

    Thanks everybody in advance.......

    2lb sugar
    1 tin evapourated milk
    2oz butter
    2 tablespoons milk

slowly bring to the boil at a medium heat and then reduce heat slightly and beat for 20 minutes. Turn out and allow to cool. Score once the tablet starts to set.

I know you are using granulated sugar, but could 'brown' sugar be used and if so what might it be like?

It's a regular size tin of milk.

I don't know how it would do with brown sugar, perhaps it would make the flavour a bit Malty.

That's about right - I make a traditional Penuche Fudge more often than I really ought to - very similar recipe, and that uses brown sugar.

    It's nice

.... but it definitely does have a slightly malty taste.
