New council offices decision
Go ahead given for new accommodation
HIGHLAND councillors have given Wick’s long-awaited new council offices
development, the green light.
They approved plans for the £8.5 million scheme which will bring all
local municipal departments under the one roof in the market square.
The scheme will involve the demolition of the existing, three-story
building and the refurbishment of the Stafford Place section. It is a
listed building and the work will require the approval of Historic
Scotland but that is expected to be a formality.
