Allegations are unfounded, claims suspended nurse
Mrs Mackintosh tells of her "two years of hell".
A FORMER nurse at the Seaview House residential home in Wick, has claimed her career was interrupted by false accusations that she abused elderly residents.
Rosalind Mackintosh says her health has suffered and her professional reputation left in tatters after she was made out to be a monster, she told today’s Press and Journal.
Mrs Macintosh was not present at a hearing in Edinburgh, recently, when she was suspended from practising for 18 months. The Nursing and Midwifery Council heard allegations that residents at the private home were repeatedly physically and verbally abused by Mrs Mackintosh.
She said this week that the affair has subjected her to “two years of hell” and points out that a police investigation, launched after her suspension, found there was no case to answer.
Mrs Mackintosh maintains that the allegations against her were based on hearsay and were “made up and fabricated”.
