I'm sorry - I need to apologise in advance, but I really am on my high horse tonight!
Where are all the animal lovers in Caithness? Why can no-one be bothered to help these animals?
The Caithness branch of Cats Protection is in danger of closing, for one simple reason - we can't cope. Abandoned, injured and unwanted cats are a huge problem in Caithness - maybe some people just don't realise how bad it is? Cats are just abandoned, no-one feeds them..............no-one makes sure that they have been neutered, so they just keep having kittens, and the cycle starts all over again. How are we ever going to resolve this problem if the community won't help?
We have a lot of cats and kittens waiting to be rehomed. We have so many, we are actually running out of room - that's how bad it is.
Caithness Cats Protection are doing their best, but it is getting harder every day. All we ask is for some support from the community. We desperately need people to help - any help at all is appreciated so much. Can anyone give us a few hours of their time each week? Each month?
We need people to help with fundraising - it doesn't take much of your time, is very rewarding and can be a lot of fun.
We need people to transport cats and kittens to new homes, foster homes and the vets. We also need people to carry out home visits and follow up visits.
All of these jobs just need a few hours here and there, but could mean the difference between the Branch being able to continue, or having to close.
If you love animals as much as we do - please help!
