    My laptops sound has just packed in on me. Im not very computer minded. but my volume control is full blast and not on mute so theres a start! its really frustrating! any help would be very much appreciated!! cheers

    Goto Start / Run/ type "dxdiag" / goto the Sound tab / Click "test Direct sound" and let us know what happens.

    hey there. its back working now. Goodness knows what happened!! I switched my laptop off last night and this morning its back working. very strange. thanks for your help though.
