    Default birth certificates

    this may not be technical, but... we may have to get replacement certificates...we are in England...do we get them from Latheron...Edinburgh...or somewhere else..where do we apply...what does it cost...lots of questions..anybody had experience of this... thanks in anticipation of your help...Tom

    Hi Tom,

    In Scotland you can apply at ANY council's Births, Deaths and Marriages and they'll send it to you. They're now all linked (after just getting married I needed a copy of my birth certificate). Cost me about £10.00 I think and I had it the next day! Try the Highland Council.

    Stay away from http://www.bmd-certificates.co.uk/ ... they charge £60.00 to have a birth certificate delivered next day!
