I am researching the Oman Family of Olrig. My great great grandparents were:

John Oman born 1800, parents: William Oman and Ann Manson, married to Bini (Minnie, Benjamina) Gear (Gair) in 1825. Binis parents were Gearge Gear and Margaret Green.

    John and Binis children:

William Oman born 1826, died 1844

    Margaret Oman

    Ann Oman

    Agnes Cowan Oman

    George Traill Oman

    Jannet Isabella Oman

    John Oman

    William Oman

    Surname was sometimes Omand.

Ann married William Shaw in Edinburgh in 1851

The [Macphee you are inferring] usually hangs out in the camps most weekends, since you already know him why dont you ask him if he is related to those oman,s yourself ,in person,?
