    Smile Well Done!

Hats off to Caithness fiddler Karen Steven for her courage and decision to raise money for ARI neurosurgical unit from the proceeds of her new CD called, "Ward 40". Judging by the write-up in the 'Groat today it certainly sounds like a very exciting selection and ought to sell well! An obvious heartfelt gesture by Karen.

Seconded. I read that story online a wee while ago and felt truly humbled by Karen's actions.

I totally agree! As one of Karen's fellow fiddle player friends, I congratulate her on this decision and am delighted that she is safely on the road to recovery. I'm definitely going to be buying a copy of her CD.

    Well done, Karen!!

    Default Ward 40

I will be buying one as well. My father was in Ward 40 nearly 10 years ago. They treated him like a king and I think it is a damned disgrace that they are proposing to close it. Ward 40 is world-class in neurological surgery. It is typical of the way everything has to go to the central belt. I saw this coming with that great white elephant they built in Edinburgh that poses as a "Scottish" parliament.

I say everyone get onto their MP about this. Ward 40 MUST NOT be allowed to close.

Would be great if a real effort is made to support her and other 'local' good causes like - http://forum.caithness.org/showthread.php?t=12687

We can be proud of all their efforts.
