Gorgeous colours! Love the spookiness of the light on the stones in the foreground too!

Had a really burning sky here tonight but there were too many trees in the way for me to take a shot at it! Haha you canna say that up there!

Brilliant 10/10 foreground really sets it off. Well done

I love the sky but the modification of the foreground just does n't appeal to me.
Sorry but some photos are too processed for my liking as I have explained on this forem before.

Has it been modified though? Is it not just a long exposure capturing the movement of the water?...

"Am no liking at" is a real gem as far as constructive critique goes though Lizz. Is there a wee bit of "gollach" creeping into your accent too?

Try a 3stop soft edge ND gradient filter,a sunset filter,a circular polarising filter (which i have screwed onto the front of my "landscape lens" permenantly, just like glasses of the same name it enhances detail and colour and boosts the contrast of water and particularly sky).
Next alter the in camera settings to boost the saturation and contrast and you can also alter the colour tone.

Finally try taking a 30 second exposure and see what "modification" magically appears in front of you without having to resort to photoshop or do you class long exposure as modification?

Suppose it doesnt matter because either way ,you dont like it,.Its just at times far to many ppl,you included Lizz, see vivid colours and assume photoshop did it.I never try to mislead anyone by saying my photos are "as is" but you can alter the in camera settings to such a degree that the camera does lie.

May be I should have been more explicit in my critique but as I have explained in the past, to me photography captures the moment and artists create the image which is why I seldom use filters or long exposures as to me I would be creating a false image.
Some of the colours you have created have recieved just praise from me and they are gorgeous in this particular picture but the foreground just does n't work for my eye.
Whilst I appreciate that you take time and trouble to achieve these results, surely I am allowed to express my sentiments on the matter or is that no longer permitted?
I apologise for the way I wrote the comment, it is a bad failing of mine to pick up on dialects and I do it without being conscious of the matter but in no way am I a gollach as I don't think that particular insect is capable of typing or expressing any kind of view on the matter let alone handle a camera.

Did i at any stage say or even imply in some round about manner....that you were'nt allowed to express your sentiments? No i didn't.
All i did was explain roughly how i took the photograph without any sarcastic wise cracks at the end.

i dont think you need to appologise for anything lizz, everyone is entitled to thier opinion and anyone who posts pics on here should accept that not everyone will like thier stuff. I certainly wont be offended if people didnt like what i do cos at the end of the day its only my opinion that counts.
All you said was you didnt like it...thats not a critique, its just your opinion which is fine. I dont critique peoples pictures unless asked to do so as I everyone has different ideas of what a pic should look like. To me its pointless unless you are asking how you can improve something and looking for replies. Ill stick to saying if i like it or not but wont critique unless asked..
I have to agree with you about capturing the moment. Thats what I like about photography..im not so fussed with technical perfection but more interested in the subject...if i could do both that would be great but that will come with time ( i hope).
Take this pic for example...im pretty sure a lot of folk would think its rubbish cos it is out of focus and probably a load of other things wrong with it, but this is one of my fav pics in my collection...

So for me i guess what im saying is if i like the picture ill tell you, regardless how you managed to capture it or how much technical skill was involved...its all personal taste at the end of the day.

I didnt ask for an apology, wasnt even offended.I DIDNT SAY OR EVEN IMPLY that she isnt entitled to her opinion so there was no need to even mention it,and i certainly dont take offence at negative comments about any of my photos but i dont see the point in saying "i dont like this" because its not the way they like to see photographs. If i dont like something i dont comment, end off.
