XP Security prob

I have MSE on my computer and have had no probs.
Today I keep getting security alerts by XP security and the only way to get it to stop is to buy the registration for the software. It's stopping me getting on the net via Internet Explorer and is popping up with security threats every couple of minutes.
I've run a system scan using MSE and there was a few trojans but they're all cleared now but XP security still keeps popping up and wants my money.

Is there any way to stop this???

I've only tried MSE once and wasn't impressed - Malwarebytes was able to find stuff it had missed and took care of it. www.malwarebytes.org
