Found 2 sick and dying goldfinches today - can anyone enlighten what could have happened to them

You could always freeze the corpses and pass them on to your local RSPB or MAAF dept. If there is an infection killing them then the authorities may well want to know.

Dont think its starvation, they are always at the feeding station. Up to 20 at a time. Will watch and see if any more appear poorly.

What a shame about the poor Goldfinch.:~(

Some time ago we found quite a few dead Greenfinch in our garden and found that this is can be caused by salmonella so maybe this is the cause of the death of the Goldfinches you found Scunner?
