I hope someone can help me in tracing the parents of Joseph Bain b c 1804 Married Helen Bremner in Thrumster 1829 died 1877 in Pulteneytown Occupation Meal miller. On his death cert it states that his parents were George Bain and Jane Begg and father George was a joiner. I checked the IGI site and the only Joseph born around that time was 1800 and father was named Joseph I then looked on Scotland's People for his birth and again the only one that came up was for Joseph b Dec 1800 in Latheron.
On the cert it says father Joseph Bain late of Clyth had a child named Joseph (born out of wedlock) .This must be my Joseph.
On the 1841 Census it says he was born in Caithness , on the 1851 it says Wick, 1861 it says Watten and the 1871 it says Wick poor Joseph I dont think he knew where he was born , How far is all those places from Latheron?
What I would like to find is info on his father Joseph Bain, could someone point me in the right direction of where i might find this info
