Long tailed ducks.

Has any one else seen them?
Spotted a small group ,last Wednesday on the east side of Thurso beach,close to the breakwater.Counted 4 on the surface but there may have been more as the surf was quite high and they kept diving.
Never seen them there before only at Dunnet Bay and that was 2 yrs ago.

They are common in the bay Lizz, they are my favourite winter arrival on the sea. Come in close off the beach at Scrabster too. Just never close enough for a good photo.

With all those cracking photos you submit for us to look at I am sure that you could take a photo of a long tailed duck in Orkney and still produce better results than I could taking one in my own garden bird bath.

Now there's a challenge for you Kas. Looking forward to the photos already, ;)
