Would anyone know where the term or nickname Borag or Boragtoon came from . It is possibly related to Thurso.:) thankyou!

Booragtoon referred to Durness Street in Thurso. Boorags is the local name for the top soil of the peat banks, the rough exposed turf. The peats which were kept stacked up at the side of the house for burning.

Indeed there is!

Hetty Munro had the house named after the street, nice touch, shame there isnt a bit more of it.

She was the wifie from the Ship's Wheel, wasn't she? Not sure I remember her but did her brother work there too? I remember a wee man in a suit.

The very same! Hetty passed away before Alistair. The Queen Mither often visited them as well when she was up this way.
