I am presuming this character that took over the bird table seeing off all comers is a juvenile blackbird.
Sorry about the picture quality but it was taken through the window.

Sure is LIZZ
There are so funny. More interested in seeing everyone off than eating. We had mayhem one day when we had the snow the week before Christmas. 13 of them in the garden with two in particular chasing after everyone.
We also had 3 Robins that day, what scrapping they were having.

Happy New Year to you and K.

I normally just have two blackbirds at my feeding station, and they usually don't bother the smaller birds, but the male was chasing them all off this morning.
I've had up to four robins at a time recently, but now I'm back to two, with just a bit of mild scrapping - nothing serious enough to cause injury.

It's the starlings which cause most trouble at my feeding station, most birds who know whats good for them stay clear when that mob is about.

I've also noticed they seem to come in groups at different times of the day, so early on I see nothing but blue great, and some coal tits, then the green finches seem to come together, then there will be a host of chafinches.

Greenfinches, sparrows, blue tits, thrushes, chaffinches - they all seem to feed together happily, but then the bully boy starlings come and frighten them off. The smaller birds have learned to sit to one side until the starlings have had their fill.

Lizz - lovely photos, especially since they were taken through glass.
