MS updates

My vista laptop has been trying to do an update on the following;
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5. But is keeps coming up with an error message Code 3701?
Can any one help me on this please?

I'd suggest Method 2 on this link (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/9f9c7806-062d-4e33-8c72-897821d68a4b) as being the best option - most likely your first installation didn't work so future attempts won't work until the original is removed.
