I promise this is not a photoshop job but i was trying to see if i could get a lunar flare from an overexposed shot..i got one and it came out BLUE,rather appropriate considering this is a "blue moon".

And a "proper" one.

I didn't even make an attempt and am glad to see the second photo. I was looking at the partial eclipse for ages through binoculars, wishing my camera was up to doing it justice, but it's more use for snapshots than photographs.
Well done, MPH!

Good photos, MPH. What lens did you use for the main shot? As for me - I missed the eclipse this time.

Super shots as always MPH.

I'd never have thought of trying the lunar flare shot. Good idea and end result is really impressive, especially as the moon is appropriately blue.

Thanks for your comments everyone.

Ricco, for the main shot the lens was removed, an adaptor used to allow me to to attach the camera to the telescope focuser so the scope becomes the lens, known as prime focus.
The scope has a focal length of 750mm.
