Revisiting HDR

Every so often I feel compelled to have a play with HDR, today's image was taken with my compact camera, and is of Thurso Harbour entrance, the brightness range was pushing the compact's abilities a bit, so I ended up processing it as a HDR, processing the RAW file to give 5 different exposures, then trying, with a lot of experimenting, to produce an HDR that doesn't look like an HDR.
