King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and Winterfest Glasgow, supported by Real Radio are delighted to launch the search for independent talent to perform as part of Glasgow’s Hogmanay party. The winners of the Road to Hogmanay public vote will open celebrations at George Square in front of a crowd of 9,000 people and perform alongside hot new talent Tommy Rilley and another big name headline act. The runners up will play the legendary King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on the same night.

Road to Hogmanay gives Scotland’s best new live acts the opportunity to have their music heard by a number of music industry delegates from across Scotland. After an initial listening round, the shortlist of the best 9 acts will be invited to play at one of three showcases on the Big Stage at George Square on 26th November, 3rd and 10th December. Online voting will be open for one week after every showcase, giving the public the power to select their favourite act.

Road to Hogmanay is now open for entries! Independent acts should enter at www.kingtuts.co.uk/roadtohogmanay and all submissions will be listened to by an expert panel of music industry delegates from across Scotland. Deadline for entry is Wednesday 25th November.

Last year’s winner The Ray Summers took to the stage alongside Paolo Nutini and have become one of the city’s most talked about new acts. Having already played their own sell out headline show at King Tut’s as well as taking to the stage at T in the Park, the lads have also supported the likes of Sergeant, Alabama 3, and Idlewild – not bad for an act that formed just over a year ago!
