I'll try and get a photo of it today as it seems to be hanging around.

It's about the size of a Robin, it's entirely White underneath but Yellow on top of its head. It's wings were a Dark colour but had a white stripe through them which was really evident and eye catching when it flew off.
Every time I've seen it so far it's been feeding on the Ground.

Any ideas?

Could it be a young goldfinch - some haven't got their full plumage yet

Hmmm, don't think it was a Gold Finch.
Someone has pm'd me and suggested a Shorelark and I have to admit that it did look an awful lot like one. The ground that it was on was all tufty too which goes along with what a Shorelark would like.

OH suggested it was a Snowbunting and although piccies I've found do look like the body of one, I swear this bird was yellow on its head.

I haven't managed to get a picture of it yet but I'm going to hide out tomorrow, determined to photograph the mystery bird.

Doesn't sound like it's a young Goldfinch, definately not a Shorelark, they appear to have black horns on their head and no dark wings with wing bars. Not a Snow Bunting, no yellow on head, could be a Goldcrest but they're tiny!

here's a photo of young Golfinches with an adult just for comparison.

Have you managed to establish what it is yet Porsiepoo?

Looking forward to finding out.
