Could someone tell me why my computer Time Date etc should be frozen at 07/07/09 at 11:16 pm please.

This is on my spare computer a Packard bell with vista home basic installed
Emails and posts on other sites are all with the same fault.

bios battery [large flat button cell] has given up?
if you always leave your PC plugged in, then it might have gone flat.

switch off the mains, then back on and see if you get a bios error come up.

if you dont, reboot the PC pop into the bios [setup is prob accessed but repeatedly hitting F2 or DEL or ESC key just after the pc post beeps ]

see if its ok there.

I forgot to mention its not all web sites this freeze occurs its mainly one site that the posts have all the same time and date, others that post on this site do not have the same problem. Any ideas please.

My stupidity and ignorance, looking at wrong info on site. :(

Ah right. Sorry.

Just annoys me when searching for answers to see a post that basically says "It's OK, I fixed it" without letting everyone else know how.

I guess it's easy for people to think that it's only them that are interested in their little problem, and easy to forget that this here electrical interwebnets are archived and can be searched rather easily.

Glad you got it 'sorted' though. ;)
