Unidentified Creature - help!!!!

Can anyone tell me what this wasp type beastie is?

I noticed one of the dogs nosing at it and when i saw it i thought OMG!!
It was about 1.5/2 inches long in total. It also had two stinger type bits at the back. One was long and the other was short.

hi the beastie that you have in the photo is a wood boring wasp,,
the longer of what looks like stingers is for boring holes in wood and laying eggs, harmless 2 man, often found in pine forests or around fir trees.
