Went up to St John's Pool yesterday and the population has increased dramatically lol. the little grebe's have at least 2 chicks that we saw and posibly more and the mallards have ducklings. One of the mallards was seen with 7 in tow and another with 6. All the B/H gulls are on nests and the arctic terns although still squabbling seem to be picking their sites. will try and get photos sorted and post some on this thread later as am off out to forsinard today. :D

and only four ducklings out of the seven and six predation musta been heavy this week but then thats nature for ya. there may have been other ducklings on shore or even over on the main loch but these were all we saw on friday 19th

Not the best of years out there but hopefully that will change next year.
