i went campin til durness last year, it wis really guid.

shower facilities, toilets an stuff. smoo cave is nice an 'e whole scenery is fantastic....(lots 'o surfers girls) ;)

couple o' tips tho....bring a beeg enough tent in case it rains an ye hev til bring 'e party inside, an for the love o' 'e wee chiel....bring some midgie repellent cream...!!
da believe what they say aboot 'e avon spray stuff...'e midg became aware, got on 'e case an are now back oot in force, stronger than ever!!

Planning Durness later this year as have heard some good reports about it. Halladale Inn has a wee camping site behind it with all facilities and on the doorstep of the pub for meals.

There is a website for caravan sites in Sutherland. If you "google" the Durness one the rest come up as other options.

Good luck.

The campsite at Dunbeath looks very nice, has spectacular views & is close to the beach.:D
Wouldnt be to keen on being near a forest, think this is where all the midgies holiday too!!

Campsite at groats is right on the beach and the wick campsite is right by the river, both have excellent views and friendly staff.
