View Full Version : Childhood Chants
"Peter and Jane up a tree,
K I S S I N G.
First Came Love,
then came marriage,
then came a baby in big baby carriage"
Does anyone remember these types of chants/songs?
Where are they derived from?
Any ideas on how old they might be? and where they came from originally?
No real reason, just very curious!
Sitting here bored and babysitting... lol

There was a slightly different version in my school:
"Peter and Jane up a tree,
K I S S I N G.
Peter said would you marry me,
Jane said most certainly!"
It required some extension of the vowel sounds... :p
ROTFLMAO, lol, just goes to show you that everyone must have different memories to me, lets hear them all!!! x

kissing and cuddling until half past 3
first came the love
second came the marriage
third came the baby in the golden carriage!
