Great shots as always Demac, Is number six the inside of the Italian chapel?

What is the new Cat like as my mother-in law wants to have a go on it next week?

Thanks Kevin, Yes No.6 is the Italian chapel.

The ferry was great, no issues what so ever other than being an hour later on the outward journey due to volume of traffic (load on-off times). Great service from the staff and all the on board mod-cons. I don't travel well on big boats but this was fine (though the weather was particularly fine last weekend).

Nice shots Deemac,like the view of St Magnus in No5 from the Bishops Palace.
A lot of history associated with these buildings.

Fab shots Deemac - I too liked the cathedral and Bishop's Palace but felt the foreground was a tad bright and therefore washed out for me. Like the Italian chapel and sun on water always gets me! :)

I`m always very impressed at the clarity you get in your photos. The cars in the first look so "real" for want of a better word.

If you don`t mind me asking, is this down to quality gear or processing... or both?

The front to back clarity and sharpness in the Italian Chapel shot is wonderful...

As with most things in life, its a combination of reasonable kit, half an understanding of how to use it and a developed processing workflow. I'm a firm believer that taking the photo is only half of the process to getting a good image (just like in the days when we all used darkrooms and chemicals!). None of this comes overnight and takes years of practise with lots of trial and error.

Some cracking images, you look as though you had great weather.

Especially like No's 1, 4 and 6.

looking at your photo of the chapel again I think you actually have more in one shot than all 12 of the photos used in the photosynth how did you get so much into one frame? maybe you should try putting one together using the same tecnique i would be really inyerested to see the results.

Alien, thanks for the photosynth link. Yes, I remember the days not so long ago where I would take lots of shots with a 110 film camera and glue them all together onto a piece of card for a very similar effect!!

I used a 10-20mm sigma lens for my Italian chapel shot (though on a x1.6 crop factor pickup, so equivalent to about 16-32mm). With a full frame sensor camera it would get even wider!! One day soon I hope . . . . .;)
