Does anyone know the best method for propagating Hawthorn?

According to The Royal Horticultural Society Encyclopedia Of Gardening it say chip-budding.

Blimey, my expertise goes as far as whipping a bit off and sticking the cutting in water till it roots. :eek:

Have you tried that? You never know it might work.

Well from what research I've managed to find on the net, most people advise against even trying to propagate Hawthorn from anything other than seed. That's a bit of a Boo Hoo cos I have no patience for seed.

Guess I'm just going to have to buy some. :(

Why dont you have a look on ebay i got some trees from there and they were good.
