Anybody any ideas that don't cost the earth, all I can think of is an informal get-together or going out for a meal.

make it simple just like a party, maybe see if you know any musicians who would play for nothing and reward them with drink lol.

The above happened at my aunts 40th and it was a blast

Why not do something exciting before the meal?Go on the speed boat trip or something and then have a meal and some drinks,it would make sure that her 40th was memorable!x

Or a murder mystery night ?

Or just invite everyone round, ask them all to take something to eat, something to drink and something that reminds them of being 18.

Or themed nights are good fun.

A few drinks, bbq and a bouncy castle!! :) Brilliant, remember your youth!
My aunty did this for her 50th and they all had a brilliant time.
