Does anyone know if there is any recipe books out there that have wheat free and dairy free recipes. Have tried wheat free bread, yuk, never tasted anything so dry and full of nothingness as this!!!!

I don't know much about wheat free recipe's, but I have a book here about cooking without milk...

http://www.amazon.com/Cooking-Without-Milk-Milk-Free-Lactose-Free/dp/1581823096

It's quite handy and teaches how to make substitutions in recipe's. I've even made betchemel sauce without dairy. It gave me the confidence to use alternatives when reading a recipe and substituting butter/marge with Pure Sunflower Spread which can be bought in most supermarkets etc.

Although I wouldn't recommend the dairy free cheese from health food shops. Yuck! But for some reason I can eat Mozorella cheese. Must be a difference in the sugars/lactose.

And I have this book in my wishlist:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gluten-Wheat-Dairy-Free-Cookbook/dp/0722540272

I hope this helps. If not, if you're near Borders or Waterstones any time, there are usually a few good books on the shelves next to the regular recipe books.

Hehe, I actually like it now. Wasn't too keen on it at first, but I got used to it. I've even managed to make chocolate brownies without dairy which my friends prefer to other brownies.

There is even a delicious dairy free ice cream that can be bought in the co-op in Thurso.

My OH used to be an ambrosia fan, too - but he prefers Alpro custard now. So I got him sorted that he often joins me in a dairy free treat of brownies and custard lol.
